For the first time in 70 years, the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth will crown a new monarch. King Charles III's coronation is set for May 6 at Westminster Abbey in London. In June 1953, the late Queen Elizabeth II, the king's mother, had her coronation there. Now, it is the former Prince of Wales' turn to participate in his own ceremony, with all the bells and whistles.

Coronations are meant to be an exuberant affair defined by opulence and celebration. Like all big-time royal events, the world is eager to get a glimpse of the lavish revelry. Spectators are sure to abound both in person and before their televisions, much like they did those 70 years ago.

While many consider the monarchy a somewhat archaic institution, today, the Royal Family and those at Buckingham Palace strive to implement a more modern approach to day-to-day operations. In tune with this, we want to introduce several available modern products inspired by regality. A perfect way to commemorate this day in history!

Lady armchair

Regal in name and form, the Lady armchair from Nicoline Italia is perfect for a Buckingham Palace drawing room. It could also apply to the most important woman at King Charles III's coronation: his wife, Camilla. Although not a lady in the title, but queen consort, Camilla is undoubtedly essential to the monarch and his and the country's success.

Tudor coffee table

Preceding Charles on the throne is a long, long line of hallowed and not-so-hallowed monarchs that also lived to serve their country. This lineage includes the Tudor family, with the most recognizable name out of them being Henry VIII. The Tudor coffee table by Tonin Casa may not bring to mind the 15th century aesthetically, but it does echo its sophistication, elegance, and commitment to serve.

Charles ghost stool

Admittedly, we selected this product for its matching appellation to the king. Though translucent in the finish, the Charles ghost stool from Kartell does have a classic, bar stool-like structure, similar to those furnishing the beloved pubs of England. For added convenience, this item is quickship, so receiving it in time for the coronation watch party is possible!
