Paolo CrepaxHe was born in Venice on 14 October 1949. He started to work glass when he was just 10 years old, learning from the great master Livio Seguso. At the age of 16, Fulvio Scarpa gave him his first job as a master glass-maker. In 1979, he founded Filigrana srl, a corporation with artistic vocation in line with the increasingly authoritative Paolo Crepax, which made a name for itself on the market of artistic glass thanks to its elegant creations made of filigree, drawn with fire and forged by passion. In 1985, a panel of illustrious Master Glass-makers (such as Alfredo Barbini, Archimede Seguso, Ermanno Nason and Silvio Seguso) celebrated his talent by presenting him with the prestigious “Murano Award” for his plate “Homage to Mirò”. The collaboration with the painter Riccardo Shwarizer confirmed his artistic talent, resulting in Crepax winning the “Murano Award” the following year as well. The acknowledgments and awards obtained by Crepax throughout the world, from New York to Paris, from Dusseldorf to Barcelona, are just as important. Hence, Crepax made a name for himself in Murano as a Master Glass-maker with a passion for design and fashion, boasting important collaborations in the world of furnishing accessories. His last creation is particularly amazing: a set of vases that, defying the laws of physics, find a never-before-seen balance between bold shapes and delicate transparencies… a metaphor for a life that is not satisfied with perfection. Nowadays, thanks to its execution and creativity, it is recognized as one of the few masters who still love this art and work with passion.manufactured by
Vistosi LightingThe story of Vistosi dates back centuries, starting in 1585. Stemming from the Gazzabin family name, masters of a special kind of glasswork titled Murano, titled after its same-name birthplace in Italy, this renowned company crafts light fixtures for both commercial and residential spaces, shining, shimmering, and statement-making. From chandeliers to wall sconces to table and floor lamps, each piece is unique, inspired, and made by some of the most professional glass artisans with revolutionary glass techniques.
Although they can tell a story so ancient, their products today are nothing short of modern. In the late 1980s, entrepreneur Giancarlo Moretti took over the business from his father, altering Vistosi into the company it is today. With one of the longest-owned glass mills in Europe, an in-house research and development department, and a network of established and qualified local suppliers, Vistosi 2.0 thrives.
Vistosi boasts over 80 collections and a pervasive reputation of success all over the world, seeing implementation on almost every continent, cementing their indomitable presence as a leader in not just functional products but design objects. World-class brands and clients rely on Vistosi to make their spaces extremely valuable. The several awards to their name, such as the Red Dot, Good Design, and German Design, prove their preciousness.
